Hello, I have decided to start my personal writings with a project idea. I have a very old copy of "Return Of The King" by J.R.R. Tolkien. And, being a book lover, I don't want to get rid of a book just because its old. I know I will never read out of it because I have a nice hardcover that contains all three of the 'Lord of the Rings' series, but if I give it to goodwill they would probably just discard it. I like this book personally because it has jottings down in it and highlighted parts. I would hate it in books that I want to read again, but to a book I will not read again I think it makes the book have character. It also is falling slightly into pieces. This book has a soft spot in my heart honestly, so I want to honor it. If you would like to see an idea, follow along.
What You'll Need
- Books of Your Choice
- Plate Display
- Spray Paint
- Plastic Bag or Plastic Wrap
- Tape
- At Least 2 Push Pins
Steps
Step 1: Obtain all of the necessary Items. The most important material are plate displays, spray paint , plastic bags, and tape. It is up to you what color of spray paint and what kind of plate display you want to use. If your plate display is already up to your liking, you can just place it on thee wall and put your book in it. If not continue on. Step 2: Wrap the plastic bag around the place you want to be painted. You should then tape the plastic securely down. Make sure that it is secure, if it is not the spray paint will drip into places its not supposed to be in. So, unless you like the messy look tape it real good. Step 3: Spray the places not covered by the plastic. This should be the place where you want the color to be. Make sure you get the back, front, top, and bottom. All of the desired place must be covered to make it look good. MAKE SURE TO DO THIS OUTSIDE OR IN A VENTILATED AREA. Spray paint can be dangerous if you are not careful. Step 4: Leave it to dry. Depending on what type of spray paint you have depends on how long you have to wait. I am leaving mine outside all night. Make sure to keep it out of any type of weather (rain, snow, etc). Step 5: After you are sure it is dry completely, you can remove the plastic and hang it on your wall. |
